Creative Wedding Favors

November 9, 2011 by

Weddings are known as events that can make or break the year. Weddings are place where little girls dream of their own wedding, mothers cry, the open bar calls to the lonely, and the dance floor calls to the fun loving. Weddings are where memories are made- and not just for the bride and groom.

People make memories at weddings- there are the good memories that are sweet, lovely, and leave a warm feeling in the area around your heart. Then, there are the bad memories of dull ceremonies, tipsy toasts with embarrassing blurbs, cold, tasteless food, crusty cake, and watered down drinks.

If you want your wedding to be that everyone remembers fondly, you should probably provide your wedding guests with favors that they can take, enjoy, and tell their friends about. So, what kinds of favors fall perfectly into those categories?

Here are just a few that you can consider, research, and try out.

Bubbles, Bubbles Everywhere

There are no small handheld favors more fun than bubbles. Bubbles come in small, clear plastic bottles that can be handed out at the end of the ceremony so that guests can shower the departing bride and groom with something far less messy than rice. Bubbles are fun for guests of all ages, and the bottles can be personalized with the names of the couple and the date of the wedding. Yes, bubbles are personalized party favors that will have young and old blowing heartily into the air.

Mix CDs

CD-W packs are available inexpensively at your local Wal-Mart and can be made into the most rockin’ of wedding favors. Grab your laptop, pull up your Windows Media Player, and, as a couple, make a play list of all of your favorite songs (make sure to only consider songs from albums you’ve actually purchased, otherwise there are some nasty federal laws to watch out for). Once the play list is complete you can burn several hundred mix CDs over the course of a few days. This is a task that you can do while watching TV…no biggie. Once the CDs have been burned, you can print out the same amount of CD labels, and you can label the CDs with whatever you want them to say, which can be your names and the date of the wedding, or you can title the CD. Be creative- guests will be taking these home.

Personalized Sweets

Another great and sweet idea is to provide guests with small bags of personalized candy. These candies can be any type of candy. The personalization can either be on the candy itself, or on the wrappers. Personalize the candy with an image of you and your groom, or with your names and the date of your wedding. Candy can never lose, and EVERYONE will want to take some home.

These simple and creative wedding favor ideas will make your wedding a memorable one.
